Our spirit of innovation and personalised learning has continued to contribute to the raised expectations and achievements of all young people. There is a core belief that every pupil can achieve high standards. The school has earned itself a distinguished reputation as an institution, which delivers a first class service for its pupils, parents and the community. The education offered at this school aims to be exciting, stimulating and challenging.

The school has been developing its reputation as a centre of excellence within the EiCs partnership, working collaboratively with other schools and colleges e.g. part-time placements for mainstream pupils, training for Teaching Assistants plus support and advice for teachers

Since September 2004, the school has been awarded combined specialist status in Arts and Technology. As a combined specialism, the school will continue to provide a stimulating learning environment which promotes the highest standards of teaching, whilst accessing the best available resources to engender a positive attitude to life long learning. In considering the role of a combined specialism, we will endeavour to advocate an educational culture, which is creative, technological, scientific and vocational. The impact of this combination will continue to promote a climate of achievement in both academic and personal accomplishments and provide all young people with the skills and qualifications needed to progress into employment, training or higher education.
