Oakwood High School has Specialist Art and Technology Status and is a member of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust. Art and Technology has a unique place in the curriculum of the school. The experience of the creative process in both these areas contributes to the development of the whole person, exercising the intellect, imagination, manipulative skills and coordination.

The Art and Technology experience builds self-confidence and affords an alternative way for the young person to respond to spoken language. They create a visual language for expression and communication.

Pupils have opportunities to visit exhibitions, galleries, industry and work on joint projects with other schools to experience an enriched curriculum through specialist practitioners and to work towards national accredited courses.

As a Specialist School we have involved our own pupils, associated primary schools, local high schools and the community in exciting and innovative activities that aim to develop learning.

Please feel free to view End of Year Evaluation Reports for stakeholders.
