Placements at Oakwood last for 12 months and take place one day a week from 8.45 until 2.45pm. They are aimed at pupils who are functioning significantly below their age expectation in English and Maths.
The Inclusion Placements in Year 7 have a 2-form entry. Each class has a Teacher and a Teaching Assistant. Classes contain between 10 & 12 pupils. Pupils are taught English, Maths, Science and a rotation of Foundation subjects in the Unit by their teacher.
The Year 8 Placements are taught by one teacher. There is one class at present. The same structure and subjects are offered. The Year 8 placements take place on a different day to the Year 7 Placements and pupils socialise and integrate with our Yr 8 & 9 pupils at lunchtime.
