Oakwood's own poet-in-residence
Manchester Poet Mike Garry is now our official 'Poet-in-Residence'. Mike has worked with the school for several years and this link will strengthen Mike's and the school's relationship, adding to the language development of our pupils.
Mike's projects with the school has involved assisting the school to document our pupils' trip to New York and working with our pupils' and French partner school in The Dordogne, as part of the school's MFL programme.
Mike has also worked with our 'So Many Words", developing text for their performances of 'Cyrano' and 'Svek' at The Studio Theatre, The Lowry.
Mike will be involved in working with the school on the April 26th performance at Salford Quays and this term working with Key Stage 3 pupils exploring 'values' and 'relationships' within school and 'transition' with Year 11 pupils
