The Question of Identity

Alister Neville (a wood sculptor) is coming to work with a group of pupils from Oakwood and Springwood. The project will run for a full week commencing Monday 16th Jan 2012 and will be based on themes of ‘identity’, ‘conflict’ based around the life of Gauguin and his time in Tahiti and his relationship with Van Gogh. They will hopefully create a centre piece carving for exhibition for the Lowry show in April 2012 as well as individual wood carvings of masks and some wood cut carvings possibly to be used for fabric printing.
