Local

The school has developed strong links and partnerships through its Specialist College programme with:

  • Springwood Primary School, The Friars Primary School, Monton Green Primary School, Oasis Academy:Media City and Salford College. Partnership activities are based on the sharing of facilities, staff expertise and general resources. Areas of curriculum support: Art, MFL, ICT, Sport/PE, Design and Technology, Music, Dance and Food Technology. This year a focus has been in supporting the transition years: year 6/7 and Post-16.
  • Local Salford business firm LSE , lighting company. Pupils have collaborated with LSE designers, producing lamp designs which have then been produced in China. This resulted in a group of pupils travelling to China and visit the factories to see their products in the factories showrooms. Pupils’ lamps have been purchased by the college programme, as part of our enterprise project, ready to sell to parents. LSE are supporting the school in setting up a social enterprise, selling pictures pupils purchase from Buji, arts village, in China.
  • Lowry Outlet, Salford Quays. The Outlet has kindly allowed pupils to use their units to sell retail items (pictures/lamps/lights/etc) as part of our enterprise projects and to exhibit BTEC Media course work.
  • The Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays. Pupils regularly perform in the Studio and Quays Theatre and will on occasion exhibit art work in the Theatre’s exhibition areas.
