ICT

The IT department provides a stimulating, challenging and yet enjoyable learning environment for all pupils. We have a dedicated IT suite which is fully networked. A library which has 16 networked computers and banks of laptops for cross curricular ICT based activities.

Curriculum

We follow the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum in Year 7, 8 and 9. Year 10 and 11 pupils study for the OCR Nationals in ICT Level 1.

High levels of pupil attainment

ICT is mandatory at KS4 and as a department the results have been some of the best in the school for the last three years running. The OCR Nationals allow pupils to gain experience of ICT based on a business environment and offer them skills which they will undoubtedly use once they have moved on from Oakwood.

Curriculum Enrichment

The department has been very active in offering extra curricular classes to pupils of all ages. These include dinner time clubs and after school clubs. Booster classes are also offered where year 11 pupils can come into the ICT room after school on a set day in order to work on their coursework.
